Description | The Spring School will focus on emerging connections between geometric group theory and theory of dynamical systems. In particular, such topics as measurable group theory, interval exchange transformations, amenability, zeta-functions associated to groups and their actions will be in the center of the courses given by internationally recognized experts in their respective fields. Bringing together specialists both in geometric group theory and in dynamical systems will allow to provide a unique interdisciplinary prospective that will be useful to students with different backgrounds. The program will include some minicourses and a small number of talks, and the daily schedule will allow time for informal discussions. Discussions, problem sessions and brain-storming sessions will be moderated by the organizers. |
