NumPDE Summer Retreat, Disentis 2018

Since 2009, we have organized an annual summer retreat on the topic of numerical analysis of partial differential equations. The main goal of this retreat is to promote the research activities of PhD students working on this topic. There are about 15 presentations of 45 minutes given by PhD students, with ample time for discussions and exchange of research ideas. During the last years, we have observed that all participants profited a lot from this retreat, sometimes even initiating joint research projects and publications across different groups. The retreat takes place during the summer vacation period at the monastic school in Disentis, which gives access to reasonably priced accommodation and catering, as well as a class room equipped with a black board and a projector. Arrival will be on Wednesday August 8, 2018 before lunch time. Lunch will be at 12:00 PM. The talks will start

after lunch. Departure from Disentis will be on Friday August 10, 2018 in the afternoon. Please register for the

PAYMENT

This time the payment is on an individual basis - both for lodging and travel.

 

TRAVEL

Please make your own travel arrangements. From the train station Disentis/Mustér the monastery of Disentis is

ACCOMMODATION

You will be accommodated in single rooms, situated in the area of the monastery with towels in the rooms.

 

TALKS

Organization of talks will be made 'on the spot' on Wednesday morning in Disentis. Therefore, it is necessary that

you prepare your talk in advance. There will be a beamer/laptop and you should bring a .ppt or .pdf file of your talk

to Disentis. Please note that there are no PC-workstations available. However, WLAN access with your own computer

is possible.
